On Saturday February 6th the Lowell High School hockey team hosted their first Hockey Fights T1D benefit hockey game. The game was played a the Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell vs Newton South High. The total amount raised from donations and raffles was $3,985.00!
Raising money to combat Type 1 Diabetes is something that hits close to home for the Lowell High School Hockey team. They currently have 2 players; Junior forward Casey Sheehy and Freshman forward Thomas Hassett as well as Assistant Coach Paul Francoeur that have Type 1 Diabetes.
