On Saturday October 26th Hockey Fights T1D held its 6th Annual Fall Freeze at the New Hartford Rec Center. The presenting sponsor of this years event was Mountainside Medical. This is the 6th year that Mountainside Medical has been a major donor or sponsor. The total raised from sponsors, player registration, donations and raffles this year was over $1,700!
Thirty players participated in the draft-style, exhibition hockey game that is the main focus of the Fall Freeze. It is open yearly to players of all skill levels. Other activities at the event were a hockey skills competition as well as fundraising raffles, with prizes donated by local businesses. Player gift packages included an event t-shirt, custom name plate, a skate towel, stickers from Howies Hockey, and a sample of Mountain Ice, a new product from Mountainside Medical.
